Location:
Huyse de Grote Sterre, Jacob van Maerlantstraat 3, 8340 Damme [gps] Tijl Uilenspiegel undoubtedly is one of the most imaginary inhabitants of Damme. Most of the time he is described as being a brat, a genuine rascal. But he also was a partisan, fighting against the Spanish occupier. The legend of Tijl started around the year 1500 and from that moment on, numerous works have been written around the life of this rascal. Probably the most well-known book is the one written by Charles De Coster. Do you want to discover who Tijl really was?
