Museum Delporte

Location: Burgstraat, centre of Damme.

In the old, white painted schoolbuilding, the museum of the well-known Belgian painter and sculptor Charles Delporte is set up.  In Damme, but also in several other towns and villages, work of the hand of this artist can be found.  Charles Delporte donated a substantial part of his oeuvre to the town of Damme for the accomodation of a museum.  The most impressive sculpture is undoubtedly the statue at the foot of the tower of the Our Ladies church
